Commonwealth Heads of Government Interim Report

The impact of COVID-19 is being felt in every corner of the world, with leaders across the Commonwealth’s 54 nations facing unprecedented challenges.

As such, the values and aspirations of the Commonwealth remain as important as ever.

Member countries have committed to work together to promote prosperity, democracy and peace, amplify the voice of small states, and protect the environment.

The postponement of the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) due to the ongoing pandemic is unfortunate but understandable.

However, this Interim Report, echoes the intention of the Meeting: “to explore how Commonwealth nations can pool resources and innovations to transform joint challenges into exciting opportunities”.

Commonwealth Health Report 2020

The Commonwealth Health Report 2020 comes at a time when health is in the headlines across the world. Coronavirus, declared a global health emergency by the WHO, is putting huge pressure on countries’ health services, and reinforces the need to build stronger health systems for universal health coverage. It is also a stark reminder of the importance of international collaboration, political commitment and knowledge sharing – to deal not only with health emergencies, but to increase life expectancy, reduce maternal and child mortality, fight against leading communicable diseases and address the growing burden of noncommunicable diseases.

The Commonwealth Heads Of Government Meeting 2018 Report

Produced in partnership with the Royal Commonwealth Society, the CHOGM 2018 Report was distributed to the attendees of the four days of events which took place in London.

The 2018 CHOGM brought together leaders from Commonwealth countries to reaffirm common values and address shared global challenges. The theme for the Meeting was ‘Towards a Common Future’ and focused on building on the strengths of the Commonwealth to ensure the unique organisation helps member states deliver a more prosperous, secure, sustainable and fair future for all citizens, particularly young people.

The Report includes perspectives from HRH The Prince of Wales, the Rt. Hon. Theresa May, H.E. Yoweri Museveni, the Hon. Dr. Joseph Muscat and the Rt. Hon. Freundel Stuart, amongst a number of other high level contributions.
